Great-tackleford-show

The Great Tackleford Show is a fair held in Tackleford to exhibit local achievements in agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, and other areas. It is apparently an annual event (it is reported to have been founded in 1894, and has been covered by the Tackleford Cormorant at least as far back as 1970), but the one known occurrence was held August 12-14, 2007. The paper's editor thinks of its coverage as an important assignment, but it goes over about as well with the reporters as the assignment of City Limit reporters to cover the Dingham-on-Wharfe Pig Race years earlier.

It turned out that giant bees were not eligible for entry into the "Best Beast" competition.
